Some things

Thought I'd better try and pop in with a general catch up.

But firstly - thanks so much for all the kind comments about Katie.  I'm sorry not to have replied to you all, I do usually try to reply along with the comments or directly by email if I can........but Katie is a bit of a time-eater I'm afraid.  Which is, of course, exactly as it should be!
Islay, mud dancing in Binning Wood

Some things::

:: we went brambling yesterday and managed to collect enough for a crumble or pie or two but not enough for jam (last year's ran out months ago)
Kipper loves mud too

:: Islay, in her rather odd assortment of clothes, had a whale of a time in the mud.....and wasn't bothered about spending much of the brambling session in just her pants and tshirt after, rather predictably, falling into said mud

:: next year we need to remember to go earlier (around mid September, I think) - but we had quite a good reason not to this year
Picnicking in Binning Wood

:: that reason, in the form of little Katie, is growing rapidly and now has an extra chin plus lovely chubby cheeks

:: her Grannie was heard saying to her 'Oh, Katie, where has your pretty little pointed chin gone?' - I predict that it will reappear in about 18 months time when she starts to slim down again!
Katie, 3 weeks

:: having survived an upset tummy, because of the small amount of antibiotics getting into her system (to treat my mastitis which, fingers crossed, seems to be fully gone now), she now has a cold - I guess by the end of this winter her immune system will have been well and truly tested...which will be very good for her in the long run, I suppose

:: we have only two weeks to go until the October holidays.  Yay.  I'm really looking forward to having all 6 of us together for a week as John just had 5 days off when Katie was born (2 of which we were in hospital)
More Katie, sorry!

:: I have some pre-baby sewing to show, maybe next time

:: I really must start on the commission that needs to be completed for the end of this month

::  I can't wait for a very exciting parcel coming from Australia (I snapped up a couple of goodies for Katie and I know I will get at least as much pleasure from them as she will!) with money from my last commission

I think that had better be all for now.  Hoping all is well with everyone. xxx

And as for Islay mud dancing LOL her and Tsunami would get on SOOOOOOO well.
Now I'm going to take a guess at brambling . . . were you collecting wild berries?

I too have been getting very behind with blogging thanks to the addition to our family!

Sorry to hear Katie has had an upset tummy and a cold. We've had similar, as I had to have antibiotics due to the extent of my tear and Oscar is now having saline nasal drops as he cannot clear his mucus he's had since birth. Isn't it hard when they are uncomfortable and too little to understand you are trying to help soothe them?

Looks like you had a glorious day out in the woods! I love the fact Islay was allowed to go mud dancing :) what fun, even if it did make a lot of washing for you.

I love the first photo of Islay in the woods and how gorgeous is Katie! I'm amazed you found time to do any blogging at all as I'm sure you have your hands full. I hope the October holidays are fun and not too tiring. Bethx

She is absolutely adorable - hope you are both well and thriving - not much time for blogging I should think!

Katie is gorgeous - congratulations, Oliver has a double chin now too - but it just shows that they are happy and thriving! Islay has the right idea dancing around in the mud, love the photo! Well done for getting out and about brambling, I've only managed trips to the shops so far, but really want to go for a walk a mile or so up the road to get some blackberries from the hedge, will maybe put him in the sling later this week and go. Too tired today from being kept up last night. :) x
