Big butt baby pants........for a big bottom baby!

Katie has a big bottom and the perfect solution to clothing it is Rae's Big Butt Baby Pants pattern.  Now I need to add at this point, so that she isn't too mortified in the future, that the size of her cute rear-end is largely (maybe not entirely) down to her cloth nappy.
Cloth nappies and girl's trousers just don't mix very well.  Unless, of course, they are made by your mummy and designed to fit over an extra wide posterior.
Rae's pattern was perfect.  Clearly written and easy to follow.  And I love the result.  I think Katie does too.  At least she has lots of room for her rather eccentric one-legged crawling action.
And, no, I didn't think to put her in a top on that would match either pair of trousers.  Obviously.
And I have finally finished a quilt that was thrown into a corner last summer.  I started making it as part of a commission.  Unfortunately, despite having picked out the fabrics and agreeing the design, she changed her mind about what she wanted but only after I'd made the top.  That's life I guess, and she did love the next one.  So, after that experience, I went off the quilt top for quite some time.  I'm still not hugely keen on it, and I don't think it would ever have been a favourite, but it is growing on me a little.
It had been bugging me that it wasn't finished so I got to work and it didn't take long.  In fact I really quite like the back and am a bit more relaxed about the front now too.
Now I just need to find a little girl who loves pink, and more pink, and pink again!
I do like that shade of green.  I think it might be my favourite bit.

I used to have a similar problem with my boys and cloth nappies - I used to double their age to buy trousers! The quilt is very pretty - I am sure you will find a loving home for it!

I love how your quilt turned out, and that you're feeling a bit happier with it. Amazing back too.

Those trousers are great! The quilt looks good, I'm not a fan of pink or red but I love the green edging - anyone who does like the main colours would love it I'm sure! I bet it wouldn't hang around long in your folsky shop.

Thanks for your comments about my rosacea :)

I think the quilt is lovely. Such a shame to have it rejected when so much work had already gone into it, rather cheeky of your customer I think. I'm sure it will find a good home. Lovely breeks for Katie too, children are so cute at the crawling stage aren't they! Hope she's not getting into too many things she shouldn't be though!

Awwww I love those trousers! I had the big-cloth-nappy-bum problem too with all my kds too. Those trousers are brilliant!
Love that quilt too. Looks even better with the binding sewn down :)

I really like the quilt - the green (and the red) break up the pink and add movement.

The little trousers are adorable. Love the mix of prints you used.

I hope you dont mind me stopping by to introduce myself. I came across your blog via Annie at Knitsofacto and so glad I did - your lfe looks idyllic and your quilting is beautiful. I actually really like the mix of colours in the quilt.
I like to think of my curvy behind as my Jo Lo butt! I am far from having latino curves but it sounds more exotic than admitting to myself I perhaps shouldn't have made (and eaten all of) that last batch of homebakes.
Great blog
Happy writing

They're adorable. As is your fat bottom girl. I'm now trying to think if I know any little girls in need of a present as I have just the fabric for these :D

The post title made me laugh a lot - K's bum looks very sweet in the photos, especially in her nice and roomy pants....I need an adult version and not because I'm wearing a cloth nappy - ha ha!

I used to hate pink as a girl and young adult but have grown to love it in more recent years, especially teamed with green. I like the quilt - I hope you were compensated for the fabric and ideally the work time when the commission changed?? Bethx (the linen cat)

Yes, pink has grown on me a little too. And, yes, compensation would have been good - I didn't ask for it, I find it very hard to kick up a fuss but I guess I should have done this time. Oh well. Juliex
