I'm hoping to be back soon with some sewing (however it is completely dependent on a teething, at least that's what I think it is, Katie cheering up and being a little less clingy, poor soul) but in the meantime, and because it is miserable outside today and wasn't then, I have some photos from Saturday's walk and picnic. The picnic was rather more of a packed lunch eaten whenever we found a suitable spot to stop. We were all, for some strange reason, really hungry so started tucking into our supplies early on and then had to stretch them out for the rest of the walk!
We've only been along Pedlar's Way (a Right of Way between the villages of Gifford and Bolton) once before and I'm still not sure why I didn't know about it sooner - it is such a lovely spot. The path meanders along a burn, then river, through fields and woods too (can't beat a good bit of woodland!) and has a really rural peaceful feel to it.

The children decided it was summer and socks and wellies were off in a flash. I persuaded Islay and Angus that they might be best to keep their coats on even if they took off their shorts. And I think after a short time in the water they realised I might have a point!

Mum and dad were busy over the weekend so we had Moray back for a visit. Now that, over the summer months at least, we are dog-less we appreciated having him even more. Dogs do add a certain something to a walk. Provided, of course, it doesn't involve livestock or ground nesting birds, which some of our walks do, because then there are distinct advantages in not having a four legged friends tagging along.
We're still having computing problems and in the process of a complicated series of maneuvers to get the photos off my camera and onto a working piece of technology (which involved a fair bit of naughty words directed at the laptop and pc) I seem to have lost some pictures - which is rather annoying as I'm sure they were the best ones!

Looks like a fun walk - I'm not sure I would have paddled, I bet it was freezing!
I loved your walk, through the trees, the children looked as if they were having great fun in the water. I agree with you, I always get more enjoyment having a dog out on the walk too.
Hope your computer problems are soon sorted out.

Sounds great - what a lovely place to explore and happy time for the children I'm sure!
The walk looks like loads of fun! I bet the children were surprised at just how chilly the water was! Hope you get the computer problems sorted soon and Katie's teeth come through soon as well(teething again here too) . :) x
What a fabulous looking looking place - my little ones would have so much fun wading around and 'yep' probably with bare toes too though too cold for me - I'd have to keep my wellies on - even the sea down here in the summer is too cold for my poor old sensitive feet.
Take care

ps. I hope the teething eases - it can be a rotten time for all. N xxx
