Walking - the best thing to do on a winter day, once the sledging and snow-man building has been exhausted. Last Sunday we went to the North Pole* which seemed very appropriate for such a raw and cold day. The snow was much thicker at home but here we were right down at the coast, heading towards the Tyne estuary, so there was just a thin layer.
A few flakes drifted down while we were out. The dog had a good run and lots of rolling - the colder it is the happier he is, he really doesn't like warm weather! The big children let off some steam and John, Katie and I just enjoyed the fresh air, scenery and peace and quiet (relatively quiet, our kids shatter the illusion of tranquillity fairly quickly). It was just what we needed.I have a tax return to complete, yuck. But I know it won't take too long, it is just that my sewing machine and knitting needles seem a lot more attractive, but then Katie may not co-perate and then I may have to leave it all for another time anyway. We'll see. Good luck with whatever your plans are for today whether it be a tax return or something much more fun.
* The North Pole is our name for a little knoll near the Tyne estuary - more info here

Hi Julie,
That's a wonderful name for the little knoll.I thought I recognised it from a previous post. How Katie has grown since then! We always used to find that the children needed to get outside for some exercise just as much as the dogs.

Ugh, yes, I need to do mine too, I've earmarked some time on Saturday... Glad you had fun though!
Looks like lots of fun, lovely photos.
Looks like a lovely walk. I love Katie' rosy cheeks and happy smile! Jx
We so need to get out and have some more time as a family. Sunday we are all off to Eureka
This looks lovely Julie, such a pretty walk and I can imagine very refreshing :) Katie is a real cutie isn't she! Good luck with your tax return, I can imagine the sewing will win in the end though! Saffa xxx
We have MUCH more snow than that!
Did you get your tax return done, I wonder?
Gosh it does look cold up there. We had a fair bit more snow but no wind chill to speak of, makes all the difference!
Thank you for the get well wishes, they were much appreciated :)
It's beautiful there - the trees have a very coastal look to them.
Katie looks very warm and bundled up - it takes a lot of time to get small ones ready for cold weather excursions, doesn't it?
I'm about to take a snowy walk myself. :)
Beautiful photos, it does look braw chilly though, specially goin by wee katies red nose!
