I seem to be very busy at the moment but one thing that I will always make time for is bringing a little bit of nature inside. I love the idea of Lou's Nature in the Home series - it is something I am naturally drawn to. I have been bringing in little bunches of flowers or leaves for years, probably since I was just 9 or 10. I guess, given that I can't always be outside, it helps to bring some outside to the inside.
Our new hall cupboard sits in a dark wee passage and there's really no way I'll be able to grow a plant there (my normal treatment for most nooks and crannies) but I can keep a little vase of greenery which I'll change with the seasons. This one has been in place for a few weeks and was picked with Islay on one of our Butterdean Woods walks. There's Douglas Fir, Western Hemlock and Grand Fir. And round the bottom we have larch cones. In the last few days the buds have started opening and there is a lovely wee burst of bright green.
I think it is probably time to think about changing this wee arrangement. It is finally beginning to warm up here, and the sun is shining, so maybe we could go for something which feels a little more spring-like.
I hope you are warming up and beginning to feel spring-like too. Have a wonderful week.

Love natural display. Today is to be our first scorcher!!
Such a lovely idea for an empty nook! Hope you find something glorious from Sping's offerings!
What a gorgeous, simple arrangement. Does it smell of pine too? I love that smell and would always have a real christmas tree for the smell alone. Look foward to the spring display! Julie x
Lovely idea to bring in greenery. My husband is allergic to flower pollen. He knows even if I've walked them through the house. A vase of greenery would be perfect. And a compromise. Loving a bit more sunshine, at last!
So pretty, I always like to bring the outside in.
The sun is actually shining up here today! Not too windy either. Still cold tho.... Am longing for warmth now!
Hi Julie, I love this idea of yours to use dark quiet corners to make nature inspired arrangements, I might try this in my bedroom :) I went on a coastal walk this weekend and there were so many wild plants and flowers, spring defiantly is here now! I reckon you will fid some lovely things on your next walk, I'll look forward to seeing the results :) Safxxx
This is beautiful, and the bright wee buds are so cheerful. One year our Christmas tree started budding out, and by the time Christmas was over, it had new little needles at the tips of many branches. (I felt like a murderer when we had to take it down.)
This must look wonderful in a not so bright hall. x
Pretty :o) I have to admit I rather revelled in being able to walk to Sainsbury's at lunchtime without my jacket!
I'm kinda hooked on nature in the home too, generally and Lou's Linky.
I love this arrangement ... couldn't you just add a second, complimentary, spring like one, rather than replace it?
