Fossil hunting without the evidence

Hello, hello.  I thought it was about time I popped in to say hi again.  I think I'm going to be pretty patchy here over the next few weeks.  John sets off today to Malawi for 2 1/2 weeks (I'm very happy for him but just a little envious and also very much looking forward to him coming home!), the  big kids finish school on Friday (yay, they are getting to the point of really needing a break) and we have various trips planned over the holidays.

Susie is wonderful - we are having such a fun time with her.  I think we may be making a little progress on the house-training front, but it is slight, and we are getting quite wet with all the trips outside!

So, here I am - briefly.  I hope that you are well and have some good plans for your summer too.  These photos are from a couple of weeks ago (pre-Susie which seems hard to imagine now) when we had a lovely walk to the fossil hunting beach.  The proper one this time.  We saw some great fossils and quite a variety too.  I took some good photos  (nothing like blowing your own trumpet is there?!) and then promptly deleted them most of them while I was admiring them.  It took me quite some time to get over my annoyance from that exercise.  Here's the best of what is left.

I would definitely recommend a trip to Barns Ness is you are ever in East Lothian.  It is very easy to see some very clear fossils.  The beach is pretty (if you don't look inland to the cement works) and we can vouch for the usefulness of the picnic benches.

Looks like a great day out. It is so annoying when you loose photos - the computer still mystifies me at times. Glad to hear that you are making progress with Susie and that she has settled in well.

What a shame you accidentally deleted some of your pictures. The ones you have shown still look wonderful and those fossils look amazing. I'm glad Susie is settling down well. Do you not have some many midges on the East coast of Scotland?
