The bigger children spent a lot of time bashing fallen branches with sticks. I'm not quite sure what the intention was..........maybe 'just because'?
I managed to get semi-decent photos of all of them, even the boys - they really aren't easy to photograph these days. Today poor Islay has a very bashed up nose courtesy of one of her loving big brothers and a, too rough, rough game of wrestling. And Katie - well she was very determined to get herself to the top of the car park fence. Getting that second leg up was tricky but she managed and was very pleased with herself!
Susie........well she had a lovely time and sampled every possible patch of water and mud.
It was a good walk! And today - well, it is back to the school routine and I'm negotiating with a toddler who isn't sleeping enough at night and tradesmen* of several varieties who seem set to make my life as stressful as possible.
* I started a long ramble going into the ins and outs of it all and then thought better of boring you with my troubles. Suffice to say that living in a very old house, built around 1750, with shared roof responsibilities, and Listed Building plus Conservation area status, is the cause of some serious headaches!

Sorry to hear you're having roof problems... we moved from an edwardian house to something brand new just because we couldn't put up with house headaches any more! As for your other photos, you have some lovely children there, but Katie just makes me smile every time, she is so determined to keep up with the others - and that cheeky face! Julie x
I love the red berries and picture of Katie looking at you, very cute indeed :) Sorry to hear you are having sleepless/ stressful time at the mo, hopefully it will settle down soon. Your so lucky though to be living in a home that old (even if it doesn't feel like it at the mo) its my dream to live in an old house one day! safxxx
I always think that we are lucky to see any wildlife when walking with the children. Not everything is frightened away by the noise.
Bah to repair work. We have roof problems in an old property of the same year too, but none of the conservation complications.
I was going to say those photo's are fab and boy oh boy those lads are growing up fast and very handsome they are indeed. Oh and those girls of yours, I could squeeze them!
We are discovering that a white puppy was possibly not a wise choice!
Good luck with the roof
Such cheeky (adorable) faces.

I thought Katie was a little young to be getting her leg over... ;o) Love the look of determination though!
Good luck with the roof, been there with the shared roof thing last year - ours is owned by 14 different lots of people o.O
Such a beautiful brood! Love the pics of Katie especially, I cant believe she managed that fence!
Roof issues suck and I can only imagine how much more complicated it becomes with a listed building AND shared responsibilities. Nightmare. Best of luck. Lots of deep breaths.
You took some lovely pictures of the family. I hope all the roof troubles are sorted soon.
Looks like the kids were having time time of there lives. Such good fun.
Such lovely photos!

Looks like a ton of fun for the little ones! Beautiful photos of the woods
It looks like the best kind of walk to me! With my four I always preferred large empty-ish places that could absorb all the racket too :)
What lovely photos of the kids! And another fabulous looking day out. Sorry to read about your roof problems, I once had to replace an entire roof where the cost should have been shared, it's awful negotiating these things. Good luck with it! Bethx
