I've been mulling (literally, with all the mulled wine that went down at lunchtime today) this over for a few months now and today seems to be as good as any to just jump right in and post a blog. I discovered blogs just over a year ago and have had so much fun reading about what other people get up to. I've begun sewing much more often and try to get the kids much more involved in crafts and more down to earth 'stuff'.
New Year's Day has to be a good day to take the plunge and try to enter this amazing world of support and insipiration - and to stop lurking and actually join in properly. I've never really made New Year resolutions but mine for 2010 is to have fun with 'forestpoppy', to see where sewing can take me and to enjoy our family (oh, and to actually add links etc to this blog and I must remember to take my camera so I'm not reliant on John's phone).
We've had friends over today, who we rarely see which makes it all the more special, with a lovely long lunch. Mulled wine followed by more red wine...I rarely drink more than 1 glass of wine now so may be a bit slow tomorrow!
It snowed again last night and we woke up to a beautiful morning. We all had a crispy walk at our favourite and closest wood and didn't meet a soul. What a great way to start the year. Lots more walks to follow I hope.

Looks interesting. Good luck. I am contemplating starting a blog but not up to it technically yet, I'm a bit slow at these sort of things.

What type of dog is it that you have there? We have a black cocker spaniel.
Thanks for the good luck! Kipper is a Welsh Springer Spaniel - similar to an English Springer but a lovely red colour. She's great fun. Julie
