Can you tell what it is yet?

I had fun time yesterday working up a draft of an idea that has been getting increasingly persistent. Its very rough and ready just now (filled with rice!) but hopefully with some pretty red fabric, buttons, ribbons and lavender it might become a poppy lavender bag.

I've been conscious that I need something a bit cheaper and more generic and lavender bags seem to fit....and they're poppies to tie in with 'forestpoppy'. The name forestpoppy stems from my career in Forestry and my childhood name of Poppy. In fact I'm still known as Poppy within the family. And I love them, they're so bright and cheery and bold. And as for trees, well they're just very important to me.

I'm planning to take things easy over the next 10 days or so as the kids are off school for February half-term - but once the postie turns up with the supplies to make my poppies I may just be unable to resist the temptation to work them up properly!

Enjoy your half-term wherever you are.

I think you're spot on with this, I sell more lavender bags than anything else and they make great teachers presents etc. I bet they will look great in some jolly red fabric.

I love poppies, I grow a few in the garden and used to grow them in my flower cutting beds for the house.

Hope half term goes well for you,

Bx

I quite like the white fabric too, being one of those people who prefers to wear a white "poppy for peace" in November.

I think I might have to do some lavender bags too, as I need stuff other than bears if I'm going to fill a stall at a craft fair. Maybe some bear shaped lavender bags to carry on the theme!

Do you know I hadn't thought of that but its a fabby idea. And they come in yellow and pinks too, which also hadn't occurred to me

It sounds as if lavender bags work well. I think bears would be great, especially for craft fairs. I'm sure you could work on ones that worked alongside your bears - they are so distinctive. Julie x

Hi
I wrote a note on your first blog at the beginning of the year. I then tried to be clever and put a link to you to follow what you were putting up.
However, every time I went there I saw only the first entry and I was quite disappointed to think that you might have given up after one such interesting entry.
How pleased I was to see that it was my mistake. I am quite busy at the moment (I teach) and I'm off to the mountains here (Czech Republic) but I'm glad that I'll be able to keep up with the antics of your dog.
All the best
Tramp

Tramp, Good to hear from you again!

We had a lovely walk this morning on the beach and Kipper had a fantastic time. I hope you enjoy your trip to the mountains -I'm sure they must be beautiful. Julie
