Anyway I wanted to try and use them in some way that seemed suitable. The photo below shows a little design I played around with earlier. I'm thinking of using it on a tote bag. It still needs stitching around the edges and some tidying up. There's a baby on the left-hand lady's back which doesn't really show in this photo. Is it big/bold enough for a tote and is it something people would want on a bag to carry their shopping/books/magazines in?! Not sure.

This little pussy-cat is for a child-sized tote - although I also wondered whether it might work on kitchen stuff? Again it needs stiching around and embroidery for eyes and nose.
And my last little bit of playing around today produced this little bowl of tulips which I think will be for tea cosies, mats etc(...and again need stitching - I have just ordered some new bobbins as I only have four and I'm constantly swapping colours around when sewing up my designs, its getting very frustrating).
I placed a Moo order last week. So easy to set out and very quick to process and arrive. For now I've gone for a set of stickers, for wrapping up parcels, and a set of mini-cards for hanging on my products. I'll need to have another go in a little while when I've built up a wider range and much better photos. I was so excited when they arrived - it almost makes me feel like I know what I'm doing!
And lastly, it looks as if there's someone else in this house who likes fabric too. I found Islay twirling around the room waving some selvedges.

I like all the new designs, I think the top is a very fitting way to use the South African fabric and the tulips are perfect for spring. I think the cat would work well on kitchen stuff, there are so many cat fans out there!
The bobbin comment made me laugh as it's one of the early things I had to do, I have a little tray of them now but it's still not enough (and the tray is held together with sticky tape so keeps falling apart). Loving the Moo as well, it does make you feel very 'professional' doesn't it?
Nice to see Islay, lucky you as my boys would rather play with cars and plastic Gormiti than anything craft orientated.

Hi Beth - thanks for the comments. That's what I thought about the cat too.
Yeh, my boys are very into cars and gormiti too altho' lego is beginning to be quite popular as well.
I love Moo! I've used them a few times. My next order will be some of the mini cards too, but I'm just trying to get enough good images that will look ok on their narrow design.
I agree with Beth, I think the little African ladies look superb!
My girls are quite "crafty" and my five year old is desperate to learn how to make a teddy! I'm just not sure if I trust her enough round the sewing machine!!
Abby - I think getting the images right is key. Mine aren't really good enough but I was just desperate to get something started. I'll really need to work on my photography.
Ooo yes, a five year old with your sewing machine is quite scary! Could you get hold of an old one to let her play on? I have my gran's old hand-operated Singer, which I love to bits, but now doesn't sew consistently enough for me to use and I'm planning for the kids to use that if they're ever interested. Freecycle, or somewhere like that, might produce one?

They do occasionally come up on freecycle so I'll keep an eye out. Maybe I'll just let her sit on my knee so I can guide her using mine! I have no doubt she'll soon get bored...attention span of a gnat that one!
Yes, gnats attention spans are difficult to work with. Get all set up and organised just in time for something else to be of interest!
