As we dropped Finn and Angus off at school Islay and I noticed some very black clouds and by the time we got home it had started hailing. So, rather than our usual walk along the river we set off near to Tyninghame where the weather was a bit clearer. We walked, and the dogs charged, around the woods and parkland that my parents can access from their house. It was still grey, damp and cold but lovely to be out and about.
We could see down our river, the Tyne (the Scottish one not the English one), to the estuary.
Inland to the hills which still have some snow.
Beautiful trees.
Snowdrops and aconites peeping out.
Bracket fungus fallen off an old beech tree.
So, I haven't really achieved anything that was on my list to do this week. But I'm more than happy with that. What better way to spend the morning than pottering around with my little girl and enjoying the fresh air? And the dogs are happy too.

Lovely photos, not sure where my snowdrops are this year, I fear they have been dug up :( Glad Islay is well enough to be out and about, F's ear infection has cleared just in time for C to get sick, so I am stuck cuddling him on sofa, could be worse though as I get to catch up on all my blog reading!

Lovely pics and a great way to spend the morning

Beth, What a shame about your snowdrops. I love them, they are so pretty and delicate. We don't have any here and we have been in this house for two years now so I really have no excuses.
So sorry to hear about more illness altho' cuddling is a definite bonus. Islay is much better despite someone, ahem, taking her swimming yesterday before I got back!
Bluebell - yes, it was so much fun.
Beautiful flowers! My husband takes Aconite tablets, I wondered where they came from, I don't think I've ever seen the actual flowers before!
With regards to the selvedges, yes please! But there's no hurry so I'm happy to wait :)
Abby - I guess they must be the same thing, I didn't know they had a use other than being pretty.
I'll post the selvedges in the next week or two.
