Raising money for Cancer Research

Helloooo there - it feels really good to have a chance to sit down for a few minutes and chat away. I have really missed visiting here and keeping up to date with what everyone else has been up to.

I'm planning to be back blogging regularly again, tomorrow is my last day at work, but for my first post I want to try and spread the word about the wonderful raffle that Abby, from Mutterings from the Moor, has set up. The plan is to raise as much money as possible for Cancer Research (so far well over £150) and for all people who donate to be entered into a raffle. There are some wonderful creations already on offer including one of Abby's bears.

I have made an apron as my contribution. The only request for the raffle was for some pink and an apron seemed like something a lot of people would use. I've made it double sided - pink stripes on one side and unbleached cotton on the other - and it's wide so it'll wrap around the back a fair bit. Mine is this shape and I much prefer it to a skimpy one - I'm a fairly grubby cook and like to wipe my hands on my apron....I know, not very civilised!

So please, if you feel you are able to, donate some money here at the justgiving website....and you may just win a prize as well as helping a very very good cause. Donations from £1 upwards. The raffle will be drawn on 23rd May.

....exciting news (for me at least!) the postie has, just this minute, delivered a lovely bulging parcel from Saints and Pinners. I'll share the contents of the parcel and some happy-making charity shop finds in the next wee while. Bye for now.

A lovely apron Julie! I especially like the applique detail on the pocket and the fact that it is reversible. I am glad my pear tree comment made you laugh. No one else has said they have stinky pear blossom as yet!!! x

Do you think you could get a refund on account of the smell?! Juliex
