Addicted

I have a new sewing addiction. Birds.

I was asked to make a mobile for my niece's Christmas present. I really do enjoy being asked to make things, it is always encouraging to know that people appreciate hand-made.......and somewhat scary that they trust me to make something presentable.

I'm afraid that having seen a few bird mobiles around and having heard about this tutorial, from spoolsewing, I couldn't get my head around making anything else. I usually have lots of ideas and want to make things my way but this time the only answer seemed to be to go with the flow and make some of these super little birds.

So, one, slightly squint and very overstuffed, test bird later I'm all cut and ready sew. I think I'll add some coloured ribbons to give them bird of paradise type tails. And I have absolutely no idea yet how I'll hang them. I'm quite sure I'll work something out in time for Christmas......isn't optimism a wonderful thing?!
