Poppy is Islay's, or if I'm really honest also my, beautiful beautiful doll. We, I, bought her last summer as a very special treat. Neither of us are really doll people (although I guess Islay's time may come as she is only just three) but...once I came across her on etsy from this amazing lady we, I, just had to have her. And she is very much loved by both of us.
Poppy does spend most of her time, in Islay's own words, as a 'naked lad' (that's what having two big brothers does for you - should we be worried?!) despite the lovely dress and bloomers she came in.
My clever, and talented, mum came up with a cunning plan and made some lovely clothes for Poppy to wear. Look at the details....beautiful bows and trimming.
Poppy has been sporting her new clothes quite a lot which is probably just as well given how cold it is here. I wonder if the naked lad days are over? Poppy is quite a cuddly shape. In fact, to be completely honest, she's quite a chubster and I think if she'd been a little slimmer she might have had a few more clothes. I did hear mum muttering and looking somewhat shocked as she measured her after having bought the material. But, even with more in her wardrobe, she wouldn't be nearly so lovely without all her curves.
Santa gave the clothes to Islay. In fact Santa gave the children such well thought out presents (mostly courtesy of mum) that the boys commented this morning how clever he is to know just what they'd like best.
